A saint, a mystic who lived in Shirdi while he was in body. He lived like an ordinary man, a beggar. He has tremendous compassion. He has tremendous powers. His life can be called a carnival of miracles. He attracted people through His miracles to guide them towards spirituality, love and compassion. Baba's grace is still doing it. Millions still visit His sacred tomb shrine in Shirdi called Sai Baba Samadhi Mandir.

Places to Visit in Shirdi

Om Shri SadGuru Sainathaya Namaha!

If you have not read visiting Shirdi it’s a post that will be much shirdi helpful during the Shirdi Pilgrimage.  Was just reading an article about Shirdi Sai Baba. A very close contemporary devotee of Shri Sai Baba Shri B. V. Dev Mamlatdar of Dahanu, had suggested to visit the important spiritual places in Shirdi that are connected with Shri Sai Baba.

Today most of the people visiting Shirdi, just visit the Samadhi Temple of Shri Sai Baba. They are unaware of other spiritual places connected with Sai Baba.

Gurusthan The 1st place Shri B.V. Dev suggest is the Gurusthan. Gurusthan is the place very much respected by Sai Baba. He said it is the place of His guru. Much more details is written if you follow the link to the word Gurusthan and also links to other places being followed.

2nd he suggest is Dwarkamayi. This is the place where Shri Sai BabaDwarkamai_Entrance lived most of the time, while he sported in physical form. Even these days so many devotees experience spiritual experiences and Sai Baba’s presence at this very holy place. Related article Sai Baba's Assurance about Dwarkamai also see Sai Baba’s quotes on Dwarkamai.

chavadi_Shirdi_Sai_Baba 3rd spiritual place is Chavadi, Where Shri Sai Baba use to go to sleep every alternate nights. Morning Kakad arati of Sai Baba began at this place and also the night Seja arati. Contemporary devotees of Shirdi Sai Baba have said and written that the Chavadi about procession that happened when Sai Baba left Dwarkamai to Chavadi on every alternate nights was worth seeing in lifetime. The glory of Sai Baba and the splendor on Sai Baba’s face experienced could never be said or written. Only those who were part of it could experience the divine splendor.

4th place Mr. Dev suggest is Buti Wada, now popularly known as Shirdi_sai_samadhi_mandir_Temple Samadhi Mandir or Samadhi Temple of Shri Sai Baba of Shirdi.

Lendi_baag_nandadep_shirdi 5th place he suggest is the Lendi baag. A procession with music and chanting of God’s name happened every morning that was known as Lendi Baug. On a website dedicated to Meher Baba i read that Shri Sai Baba used to call Spiritual agents through help of Drum beats, music and chanting. Sai Baba used to assign these spiritual agents their respective duties. Abdul Baba was the only devotee who was allowed in Lendi Baag with the holy One Shri Sai Baba. He have said few things about lendi baag details are in the post Abdul Baba the man in service of Sai Baba in Shirdi. The spiritual mystery of Lendi Baag procession, that of assigning the duties to abdals (spiritual agents of the inner planes is given on this link.

I would like to add two another places which did not exist while Shri Dev was here.

1st one is the museum where many articles and clothes are keptShirdi_museum which Sai Baba used. It is very near to Gurusthan and at the place where once stood Dixitwada.

Shirdi_prasadalaya 2nd one is the prasadalaya. A huge building that serves food totally cooked in solar energy. During Baba’s time serving the food to  every one especially poor and animals used to happen often. Sai Baba himself said that feeding the hungry life is one of the most important things we can do and should do. Eating the prasad here is and experience in itself.
