Shirdi Sai Baba Shirdi Sai Baba, one of the most revered saints in India, also stressed the importance of remembering and repeating God's name. He said: "Always remember me, believe in me, and you will be greatly benefited." "If you utter ‘Sai, Sai,’ I shall take you over the seven seas." Shirdi Sai Baba taught that constant remembrance of God's name, or the name of the Guru, is a powerful way to overcome life's challenges and attain spiritual liberation. For Sai Baba, Naam Smaran was a way for devotees to stay connected to his divine presence, even after his physical departure. There are many instances recorded when many difficulties were averted by chanting and singing of Sai Baba's Name. When Sai Baba of Shirdi was alive in physical body, Baba used to organise Naam Saptah that is singing of any Form of God continuously for a week. Also bhajan kirtans, singing glories of God and Saints was regular activity in Shirdi. 3. Ramakrishna Paramahamsa Ramakrishna Paramahamsa, the great mystic and saint, spoke extensively about the power of Naam Smaran. He said: "The name of God is very powerful. Even if you say it unconsciously, it will still be effective. The mere utterance of the name of God can take away all sins and impurities of the heart." The Master said, repeating, singing the Name of God is most easy and effective in this Kaliyuga. Ramakrishna emphasized that the name of God carries divine power, and its repetition, even without full awareness, can cleanse the soul and bring about spiritual transformation. 4. Holy Mother Sarada Devi Sarada Devi, the spiritual consort of Ramakrishna and a revered mother figure to many devotees, also highlighted the significance of repeating God's name. She said: "The name of God is more powerful than the most powerful of medicines. It destroys all sins and purifies the heart. Just as the wind blows away the clouds, of worldly desires." Holy Mother also said, "One has to suffer the consequences of one's deeds. But by repeating the Name of God, you can lessen its intensity. If you were destined to have a wound as wide as a ploughshare, you will get a pinprick at least. The effect of Karma can be counteracted to a great extent by Japa and austerities."
