Shirdi Sai Baba on Fault Finding

Was Reading The Gospel of Holy Mother ( Sri Sarada Devi, wife of Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansha ) In the book was mention of how the mother prayed to the Master ( Sri Ramakrishna) to take away the ability to find faults in others, and she attained it. I opened up a document of Golden words of holy Mother and the following quote came up."I tell you one thing. If you want peace of mind, do not find fault with others. Rather see your own faults. Learn to make the whole world your own. No one is a stranger, my child; the whole world is your own."

This reminded the story of Sai Baba in Shirdi found in Sai SatCharitra. Once it so happened that a Bhakta of Sai Baba, reviled another behind his back, before other people. On leaving aside merits, he dwelt on the faults of his brother, and spoke so sarcastically, that the hearers were disgusted. This happened in the sacred land of Shirdi. Sai Baba was not physically present at that time, but many a times he showed that he knew what had happened near or far by physical distance. Similarly when Sai Baba met him near Lendi Baugh Sai Baba pointed out to him a pig that was eating filth near the fence and said to him - "Behold how, with what relish it is gorging dung. Your conduct is similar. You go on reviling your own brethren to your heart's content. After performing many deeds of merit, you are born a man, and if you act like this, will Shirdi help you in any way?"

Sai Baba pointed out that even the sacred land of Shirdi will not be of any help, if the conduct of finding the faults with others will not change. We should be ever aware of our actions in our daily life, and be watchful of our conduct, if it is compiling with our Sai Baba’s teachings.

It also reminds me of my favorite How to Love God by Meher Baba, quote from it goes

“If, instead of seeing faults in others, we look within ourselves, we are loving God. “
